The Land Bank is proposing that you as the landlord (Host) would receive most of the income from renting the
Community Cottage. The Host would choose the tenant, who must qualify for this type of housing. The rent would be between $350 and $400 a month (or less by your choice). Some hydro would be included. Hydro could be the responsibility of the tenant. The Land Bank would own the buildings and ensure that they were insured. If the tenant moved out the Host could take another tenant, provided The tenant qualifies. If the Host no longer wanted the Community Cottage, the Land Bank would seek another location to place it.

DRAFT Qualifying Criteria for tenants would include earning less than $1200 a month, being a SSI resident for 1 or 2 years and one of the following: either over 55 or a person any age with a disability or a person of any age who is forced to move a lot and sometimes finds themselves without a home.
